Easy Desk Stretches

Try these easy to to do work area or desk stretches to do right where you are working.

Standing Back Extension

man-stretching Stand with your feet comfortably apart. Place your hands against the back of your pelvis and arch backward comfortably. Do not throw your neck back. This cartoon guy needs to get a smile on his face!

Overhead Stretching

This can be done sitting at your desk or standing up. Clasp your hands in front of you. overhead-shoulder-stretch Stretch your arms over your head and as far back as possible. Take one arm and reach for should blade on both side of the back. Use opposite arm to help to stretch arm more toward back. The secret is in the stretching.

Should Blade Squeeze

Clasp your hands behind your back.

Squeeze your shoulder blades together. This is a great exercise to do after working at the computer for a long period of time. Breath in and expand your lungs while stretching and you will notice you have a little more energy.

Shoulder Circles

Now how do you show a picture of shoulder circle? Rotate your shoulders: up, forwardshoulder-circles, down and backward. Change direction: up, backward, down, and forward. Remember to breath slow and deep while doing the shoulder circles.

Massage your shoulders

Sometimes we feel like we are carrying the “weight of the world” on our shoulders since they feel so tight and sore. When you relax you need to remind yourself to let your shoulders to go down and relax. You can massage your shoulders with both hands or one shoulder at a time. You can do shoulder circles as you massage your shoulders. Again, remember to breath slowly and deeply as you let go of tension.
